At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, 4th December, the Rothko Museum will host a public talk and discussion on the significance of artist-led initiatives and their critical role in the cultural and economic development of Eastern Europe, particularly in Latvia. The discussion will explore the importance of various forms of initiatives led by and for artists, addressing their impact on regional identity, collaboration, and creative growth.
The trio of speakers includes:
KATIE ZAZENSKI, director of the Warsaw-based Stroboskop art space, founder and co-editor-in-chief of MOST Magazine, and founder and co-organizer of FRINGE Warszawa, a hub for independent artistic and cultural initiatives;
MĀRIS ČAČKA, artist and director of the Rothko Museum;
KRISTAPS ANCĀNS, artist, researcher, co-founder and educator of the MA POST programm at the Art Academy of Latvia.
The event will be held in English and is open to the public.
