The race, which started in 1966 and carries a lot of history, events and sports, will be held for the 58th time in Daugavpils Vienibas Square on September 23rd.
About 700 participants take part in the run every year. There are kids, adults and seniors among the runners. The Latvian runners’ elite also participates in the event – Dmitrijs Seryogins, Dmitrijs Jurkevičs, Ilona Marhele. The citizens of Daugavpils are not only among the participants of the event, there are also many sportsmen from different Latvian cities and runners from Lithuania and Estonia.
In fact, the Mezciema race is included in the World Global Calendar. As usual, 10km distance and 5km running and walking distance will be available. Every participant will receive a special race medal at the finish line. The winners of the first 3 places in the 5 km and 10 km distances will receive cash prizes in the overall ranking – 1st place – 100 EUR, 2nd place – 75 EUR, 3rd place – 50 EUR.
Special attention will be paid to children’s sports this year. As part of the Mezciema race, there will be children’s races – 200m, 700m and 2000m distances.

For a distance of 5 km, the participation fee will be 3 EUR. Participation in children’s races is free (200m, 700m, 2km). At a distance of 10 km, the registration fee is 7 EUR. After 21.09.2022 00:00 the participation fee will increase. The registration fee on the day of the race will be 20 EUR.
