From July 16, residents and guests of Daugavpils will have the opportunity to spend evenings of summer days (except Mondays) from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm going for a walk in Dubrovin Park and Andreja Pumpura Square, where music of various genres will help to create a romantic atmosphere.
Music will sound in Andreja Pumpura Square every week on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while in Dubrovin Park – on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Visitors to the parks will have the opportunity to hear different genres of music every evening. These will be the world’s most popular waltzes and pop hits, jazz rhythms, classical music and movie soundtracks, as well as songs by maestro Raimonds Pauls, instrumental and other music genres.
Andreja Pumpura Square was founded in the second half of the 19th century. Here you can hear bubbling of the fountain “Girl with a lily”, from time to time tolling of St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox chapel bells, and rattling of passing-by trams. To this day, the square has remained popular among the residents of the city as a place for walks and an important cultural space where various outdoor events are held.
Dubrovin Park was founded in 1882 and named after Pavel Dubrovin who was mayor of the city back then. The history of the park, the memorial objects located in it, the fountain and the rare tree species, which were planted during the time of P. Dubrovin, create a special ambience of the park which have become one of the most popular people`s gathering places and a place for organizing events.
