As museums and other art spaces reopen for individual visitors, artist Māris Čačka’s solo show “Direct Dialogues”, featuring vast works on canvas, is ready to receive visitors at Daugavpils Local History and Art Museum (Latvia). The exhibition will be available 7 through 27 June.

Visitors to the Daugavpils Martin Luther Cathedral are invited to visit the viewing platform that will be open until 30th of September. The church’s viewing platform is the only one available for travellers who come to visit Church Hill.

The courtyard of Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre has become an exhibition space for a steel sculpture by Solveiga Vasiļjeva “What did You Want to Say Me? Nothing.”, in due course to be followed by other objects.

Nowadays, outdoor activities are especially topical, and hiking (walking) is a great way to get acquainted with the nature of Latvia. Daugavpils Tourist Information Center (TIC) is a place where you can get information about various walking routes and get related services.

This year in March, a new competition for young musicians will take place in Daugavpils – the 1st International Mark Rothko Contemporary Music Competition for Young Performers, which will be attended by children and young people up until the age of 19.

Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre has designed an application form that enables individual artists, artist groups or curators, to submit their exhibition proposals for potential display on the centre’s premises.

During the pandemic, Daugavpils Tourist Information Centre continued to work during the whole week and provided services on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on public holidays. The residents and guests of the city were informed about recreational opportunities in Daugavpils and its surroundings.
