Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center has launched its new exhibition season, where artists explore the chromatic properties of light through different colors and media.

From June 15 to 20, Daugavpils will celebrate the City Festival with the motto “My Castle – Daugavpils”. Residents and guests of the city will have the opportunity to participate and enjoy various festive activities, observing epidemiological safety requirements.

As museums and other art spaces reopen for individual visitors, artist Māris Čačka’s solo show “Direct Dialogues”, featuring vast works on canvas, is ready to receive visitors at Daugavpils Local History and Art Museum (Latvia). The exhibition will be available 7 through 27 June.

In the 2021 bathing season, two beaches in Daugavpils have retained the right to raise the Blue Flag – the most popular and recognized tourism eco-certificate in the world.

New and interesting objects continue to appear on the map of Daugavpils recreation places. One of them is the Music Square in the Esplanade Park, the construction of which was completed a few days ago. Visitors to the Daugavpils Martin Luther Cathedral are invited to visit the viewing platform that will be open until 30th of September. The church’s viewing platform is the only one available for travellers who come to visit Church Hill.

The courtyard of Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre has become an exhibition space for a steel sculpture by Solveiga Vasiļjeva “What did You Want to Say Me? Nothing.”, in due course to be followed by other objects.
