The Tourism Department of the Public Relations and Tourism Department of the Daugavpils City Municipality invites you to take part in an excursion and learn about the twists and turns of history and the most important events of the second largest city in Latvia.
25 August at 12. At Vienības Square, at 12:00, Daugavpils residents and guests will have the opportunity to meet the knowledgeable and attractive guide Artūrs Fišers (identification sign – a white umbrella with the inscription “Daugavpils”) and go on a fascinating tour of Daugavpils, hear stories about remarkable buildings and their significance, learn about noteworthy local people and their fates, see new and surprising places, indulge in an adventure, gain lasting impressions and positive emotions.
– The tour starts on 25 August at 12.00 in Vienības Square;
– Duration 3 – 3,5 hours;
– The tour will be conducted in Latvian and one foreign language; participants will agree on the second language (Russian or English) with the guide in person;
– The guide service is FREE, but entrance tickets to tourist attractions and public transport are paid by the participants.
During the tour you will have the opportunity to see and learn historical facts about the Unity Square, the Latgale culinary heritage centre “Šmakovka”, Riga Street (one of the first pedestrian streets in Latvia), Daugavpils Railway Station, the Air Bridge, Church Hill.
